Cross country exhibition visits Moose Jaw

It started as a movement of using peaceful means to combat hostility and misunderstanding towards Islam, and on Saturday the ‘Holy Qur’an open house’ tour will be coming to the Friendly City — and all are invited.

“The whole idea is to show the peaceful side of Islam,” Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) of Canada national executive director Rizwan Rabbani told the Times-Herald. He said there really only is one true side to Islam, and that is the side of peace.

However, Rabbani said there are plenty of misconceptions about Islam, which is why youth volunteers from across the country are travelling with the exhibit, so as to offer insights into the religion.

Rabbani said the open house to be held at Moose Jaw Public Library on March 10 (12-6 p.m.) would include about 20 large displays tackling such issues such as jihad and honour killings, so people can see what the Holy Qur’an truly teaches on such subjects.
