Will he jump?

A Swiss and an Austrian watch the 8 o’clock News on TV. Pictures are shown of a desperate man standing on top of a roof.

Says the Swiss to the Austrian: “ He’ll jump!’

‘We’ll see’, says the Austrian.

“I am telling you, he will jump’, replies the Swiss.

The Austrian slightly annoyed: ”No one can say this for certain, sometimes they jump, sometimes they reconsider!”
“I’ll bet you anything in the world, he will jump!’ insists the Swiss.

That very second the man on the roof jumps to his death. Astonished the Austrian turns to the Swiss and says: ”How could you be so sure that he will jump?”

The Swiss laughs and says: “You know, I saw it already on the 6 o’clock News”.

“So did I”, replies the Austrian, “but I never thought he is going to jump again!”

  1. It reminds me as we in sub contnent make jokes about our “Sardar Bradri” in this part of Europe, probably Swiss make jokes about Austrians. It was nice to read and to laugh. In Germany, ethnic Turkish are the scapgoats.

  2. Yes, the Swiss were telling too many jokes about the Austrians. In fact it got so bad that the Austrian President met the Swiss President and requested him to intervene to stop this habit. The Swiss President answered to his colleague: “My dear colleague, do not be so much concerned. We also have silly people in Switzerland. Wait! I will show you.” The Swiss President then asked his secretary to call his driver. The Swiss President then said to his driver: “Go to my house and ask my wife whether I am at home.” The driver said “Yes, sir”, saluted and went out of the door.

The Swiss President then said to the Austrian President: “You see, the guy is silly.”

“Yes”, answered the Austrian President, “He could have just phoned”….
