Australian Ex. Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s message to Muslims in Australia (Post is reported to be a hoax, but we leave it on TMT as the reactions are in fact quite interesting).

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques. Quote: ‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT… Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.’

‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.’

‘We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!’

‘Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’

‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.’

‘This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’.’

‘If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.’

  1. We are all human beings of this planet called earth.
    We are all the same.
    We fight about meaningless matters.
Religion.., Politics.., Extremists.., Social Classes.., etc etc – ALL MEANINGLESS!
Step outside this big “sphere of influence” which this fake world has created for just a minute and think about the real life around you… the air you breathe., the sky., the trees., the ground you walk on…
We are ALL part of this earth so lets try and become ONE with each other instead of discussing meaningless issues created to separate us and create nothing but hate and violence.

    Peace to you all

    • Mr Chris Theodorou you are literate, educated you can understand about these things so can I also but Isis, alkayda all this terrorists group have people who are not literate educated and do the terrorists activities taking and thinking that Islam is saying this to them . And some Muslims provide them accommodation, support not all Muslim I will say so the statement of your prime minister is right I think Mr.
Thank you and no offense please

  2. This, long ago was established to be a hoax. So, kudos to The Muslim Times for their lack of research skills and/or their commitment to Taqiyya.

  3. Why are Muslims so intolerant, I am not only talking about the terrorists,Taliban,Alqueda, etc
I am talking about brothers, parents who sometimes kill sisters because they want to integrate into society where they live. I am not talking about Muslim. Countries where women have no rights to be educated, drive cars, go out in the street alone etc
    Why? Intolerance?
Why are there many Muslim countries in the world wher it is punishable many places with death penalty, to convert Muslim to Chnristianity? Yet to convert Christian ti Islam is not an offense at all. Why? Intolerance?
Why are Philippino workers in Saudi Abrabia not allowed to build a church, when Muslem in all wester countries are allowed to. Why? Intolerance?
I have been trying to obtain an answer to these questions for years but none of the Muslim organizations would answer it. Why? They all support intolerance?

  5. THIS IS THE ONLY THING I can resurrect from this whole … thread. It is

‘Where the Mind is without Fear’

Honestly some people prefer to argue about two flies climbing up a wall which is a favourite Aussie past time. Just a pointless exercise in who said He said she said.

Where The Mind Is Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
    Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
    By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
    Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
    — Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel peace prize winner.

  6. Well Said! Im sick of people coming to countries and demanding them to conform to how they would be treated or acted back in their home countries. Muslims are the same as every other religion, and frankly religion is half the problem in the world today.

That being said, I make the effort when I go to Saudi Arabia to conform the laws of that land, and act the way the locals do, why can’t they do the same. Stop using the excuse that STATE AND CHURCH OR MOSQUE should be separated. Australia is Christian and always has been, GET OVER IT! Either live under Australian law or LEAVE!

  7. TO ALL:-
gillard never said that. gillard is NOT a christian or a believer in any god except the labor party or fabianism.
why has she not called for womens rights and dignity in any country where a woman is treated like a dog?

  8. @everyone screaming fake: yeah, it was put in the topic that it has been reported as a hoax, but is still up for the reactions it generates… L2read!

As for the ‘Australia is Christian’ comments, i call bs on that. Sure, there is a higher percentage of Christians in Australia (61.1% in 2011), but Australia has no official religion, and prides itself on multiculturalism and freedom of religion. And if people are so desperate to put a label on it, Australia’s true original religion would be animism, as practiced by the Aboriginal people (basically, everything has a soul, but there is more to it than that)

  9. I simply say well said! Prime Minister. If you are adopting other lands for to bring your self in good conditions you have to adapt.Abiding by the laws of country where you are residing is part of Islamic teachings.
if a Muslim living in Australia he should abide by the Australian laws. The Holy prophet of islam advised The Muslims of Makkah to migrate to Abyssinia to live freely there but never advised them to go there and bring any disorder or indiscipline to nation.
Quraan advised to migrate people in case of being oppressed and tortured

these verses indicate the situation and conditions in which one can migrate. these verses even in its context never guide a muslim to go for shariah laws.
secondly Shariah is not a bunch of laws imposed by some insane mullahs. it is code of life and way of living. it has two major parts. one is right of people and other is rights o Allah.if we act according to quraan in daily life then we are acting and living according Shariah.
May Allah bless all of us to understand real values of Islam and to get the spirit of Shariah Law.

  10. well said as are all the comments. However, surprising to note what Ahmadiya brethren are saying. They designate themselves as Ahmadiaya Muslims and not just Muslims. They know better why they add this word “Ahmadia”. Please note that Muslims are one. Islam is One. Allah is One. Mohammed (BPUH) is one. Why so much sectarianism?

  11. Only one word for all non Muslims ………..

Just read the Quran first …….
Think yourself, which is wrong, which is right …….

Come to Allah, before you turn to Allah….

    Allah Bless you and all……….

    Regards,

  12. I wish it WEREN’T a hoax. Can your subculture be any more pompous and arrogant? These are such irrational, backwards people.
Passion for God and faith is wonderful, but this is a whole level of crazy.
(Yes, yes, I realize this story is years old.)

  13. I am a Turkish muslim and lived UK for 14 years and i belive she is a right what she said. In UK I said same think to arabic friends who wants to sharia law . Whem I asked them why don’t you go back your own country, they cant answer. Unfortunatelly UK govermemt accepted some sharia law ( like divorce ), and hope aussie govern won’t do this mistake.

  14. Very well said Madam Prime Minister, I applaud you. Yes, learning the language is the first step to become part of the fabric of Australia. You begged to be part of the Australian culture, now live in harmony and let live or GET OUT or be thrown out. No one is going to feel sorry for you but YOU. Thank you Australia for being a savior. I and my children are thankful to you and your people.

well said as are all the comments.
    ———————————–
Just in case some people are misled by the above comment from Muhammad, it is well known that the holy body of the majority Muslims do not consider the Ahmadis as Muslims. And it is not due to their calling themselves Ahmadi Muslims. It is due to some other reasons, as follows:
    1. The Ahmadis believe that Jesus a.s. has died a peaceful natural death at the good age of 120 years as mentioned in an important Hadith of the prophet s.a.w.s. and as per Quran.
    2. The Ahmadis believe that Muhammad s.a.w.s. was the last law bearing prophet who brought the last law. That he was the greatest prophet. No other law bearing prophet will appear after him and no prophet (permanent and direct) as used to appear will now appear in the world. But Warners and subordinate prophets and messengers will appear in the Ummah. Only the new law bearing prophets are barred.
This is the main bone of discontent between so called Muslims and Ahmadis. And in this matter, the old time scholars writings support the Ahmadis.
    3. Ahmadis believe in peaceful Jihad of the Pen only and forbid any violence or killing in the name of God Almighty.
    4. The Ahmadis believe in living peacefully and faithfully in every country under the law of that land.
    5. Ahmadis believe in One God (Allah) and One religion (Islam) and One Prophet (Muhammad s.a.w.s.) and One book (Quran).
    6. Ahmadis believe in the seen as well as unseen things and that news of the unseen (Ghaib) is still being revealed.
    7. Ahamdis are steadfast in the five daily prayers according to the directions given by One Imam who is now, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, in London.
    8. Ahmadis believe that no one should be persecuted and turned out of his house any where in the world.
    9. Ahmadis spend out of their earnings in the way of Allah to promote Islam peacefully throughout the world.
    10. Ahmadis believe that any person belonging to any faith, if he/she is peaceful doing good deeds, has nothing to fear and will not be sorry (grieved). That such a person is not Kafir.
    11. Ahmadis want all Muslims to be good Muslims and all Christians to be good Christians and all Hindus to be good Hindus, and same for the Jews and Budhists etc.

    This list could become longer….

  16. Only came across this post now. Im a middle aged australian male who has been brought up to respect everyone. I have 1 wife and i see that as normal. More than 1 would be plainly morally corrupt. I am neither religious nor entirely spiritual. I am your typical silent majority australian. I know whats right and wrong, my parents and teachers instilled that and no religion has a mortgage on morals. I judge nobody until they have done ill towards me. I look after ocare for all peoples of australia, new and old.
But, i am feeling the times coming very soon where i will need to get off my compacent arse and say enough is enough. Dont underestimate how unbeleivably angry we aussies are getting sitting back watching murderous animals slice and blow up non muslim innocents in the world. If an attack occurs in my country, which i feel is very close, you will have awoken a sleeping giant. Religious fanatacism breeds anger and death. Passivism sits on its handsas someone said Muslims arent all terrorists but all terrorists are muslims.

  17. Rafiq A. Tschannen

Here is my belief. Why do we have all these religions? Buddism. Hindu. Christianity. Mormon. Islam. Catholic.

I married a Mormon. His Mother encouraged me to read “The Book of Mormon”. I sat down and read three pages. It sounded like some “author” was writing trying to sound like the Bible.

So at the age of 19 I realized that all religions start this way. Somebody with the talent of Tolstoy or Hemingway created a “new” religion to convince masses to do their bidding.

For instance in the USA there is a Mormon in prison, Jeffs, for having sex with underage girls.

When Mohammed “wrote” his book I understand he also had female issues in his life, he was being criticized for the harem and his nine year old bride. So here comes the Koran.

Also, you mentioned your “wives”. How wonderful. Men can have more than one wife. If you have one for 47 and 19 then that means to me you wanted a young replacement!!! How do think that really made the older wife feel as she knew you were romancing a younger model? What is that fair?

That’s why I believe in no man-concocted religion. Period.

It’s too bad that all this world strife and suffering is happening. What if I’m right? What if it’s all a bunch of nonsense?

  18. Oh, I remember you saying to someone, “Who made you?”

I believe that evidence shows we all evolved from nature. No one created us except the natural world.

  19. Suzy Hager, Muhammad did not write his book. He was not a lettered person. He never wrote anything. I am sorry to say that your information about Islam is not from correct sources. I believe there is much evil in Islam as being practiced by the fanatics Muslims. But that is not real Islam. Real Islam is the same as the real teachings of Jesus Christ. That is peace and love through Justice.
In Islam, even if there is permission for men to marry more than one lady but it is hardly practiced. May be one in thousands has two wives. It was practiced in Jews too. King David and Sulaiman had many wives and concubines.
In Islam it is strictly regulated with restrictions of equal treatment to both wives. And after all, it is told to marry one One i.e. to have one wife. That is Islam and that is Quran. There is no open license to marry as many as four wives.
If ladies number more than men in the world then it will be cruelty to some ladies to remain unmarried all their life time. Islam has strictly prohibited to have any extra marital relation. That is from the Quran. It is bad that the ladies are being made a fool by some liberal men to keep mistresses but not another wife. These things have surfaced a lot recently, in France, even to level of the highest officials having concubines. How a wife will feel if her husband had a another lady as secret consort? But if a man has another wife legally, that will not hurt the one wife so much. It is human nature. Ladies can decide what they would prefer. Their husband having another legal wife or another illegal secret relationship. Wassalam.

  20. Commendation to Ms Lambie for having the ‘guts’ to defend this country from the barbarians who want to change this world to the human brutalities of Sharia law.

Australia is a decent civilised nation, which has humane, unbias, non-discriminative and gender equality laws. Those people who don’t like Australian laws for whatever reason, are free to leave and go live elsewhere.

  21. Fact 1 – Australia is NOT a Christian country! Less than 48% of all Australians are ‘Christian’.
The rest are Atheists (as is Julia Gillard), Buddhists, Hindus (the fastest growing religion in Australia), Australian Indigenous ‘religions’, Bahai Faith, Jainists, Sikhism, Spiritualists, Non – religious, Islamists, Agnostics, Scientologists, Pagans, plus many many many other smaller religious groups.
Out of all the religions above, ‘Non-religious’
is the fastest growing group just before Hinduism.

Fact 2 – Australia’s population is only made up of 2% of Muslims

Fact 3 – People who follow Sharia Law (a very small percentage of the 2% of Muslims living in Australia) have to abide by the rules of the country they live in. This point is make clear in Sharia law documents!!

Fact 4 – Australia has been made up of most of the above religions for almost 2 centuries!

Please research and dont just blindly agree with false/fake Media crap like this.
I am certain that Julia would be horrified at some of the things in the article posted above :o((((

  22. I believe the sentiment is a series of statements that have been compiled to be a “treppenwitz”

This is a witty reply to a comment that you came to long after the initial comment or a reply to a situation you would like to come up.
It essentially summarizes the feeling that many in democratic nations have come to feel when confronted with pressure to change by immigrants from anywhere.
At the heart of the matter is choosing to go to a country comes with reasons. It is safe to assume that the way that country is , the culture it promotes and the political climate it exists in is instrumental in the decision to immigrate.

I could quickly list several countries where I would not live because the politics and religious pressures are too great a threat to my humanity. I assume these are some of the countries many choose to leave for more western democratic nations, because of their inherent freedoms. We all must work together to defend those democracies or there will be no place to go for those of us who do appreciate the freedoms of culture, religion and choice, because the vocal, militant minorities continue to rise to power. I appeal to all of us especially the majority of Muslims who are peaceful, to speak out against atrocities wherever they threaten the peaceful lives of others.

  23. Yes I am agree may Allah Swt gave her a noble desire and for more example for Indonesian people too understand this statement always to the future next.

  24. the said australian premier himself an invader, he & all other whites there also should abide by the laws of original Australians… he he he

  25. The bottom line is that Australians, and many others in the West, are sick and tired of Muslims bringing their issues and violence to countries that have been kind and generous enough to offer them the opportunity to live there. While Muslims may hate Jews and vilify Israel, and not like other religions or people (that is their choice), keep it a private matter. We’re fed up with Muslims making their issues, issues for the countries they have migrated to. From vandalizing synagogues and other places they don’t like, to committing acts of violence and murder, we don’t want it. For well over one hundred years, Australia has been a peaceful nation with all of their people living in harmony along side each other. Has it been perfect, probably not. But it hasn’t been violent. The Australians do not deserve, and should not have to put up with Muslim violence and belligerence. As the prime minister said, if you don’t like it, leave, it’s as simple as that.
