Picture of the Day: Slavery in Mauritania, Africa

Source: CNN

Moulkheir Mint Yarba returned from a day of tending her master’s goats out on the Sahara Desert to find something unimaginable: Her baby girl, barely old enough to crawl, had been left outdoors to die.

The usually stoic mother — whose jet-black eyes and cardboard hands carry decades of sadness — wept when she saw her child’s lifeless face, eyes open and covered in ants, resting in the orange sands of the Mauritanian desert. The master who raped Moulkheir to produce the child wanted to punish his slave. He told her she would work faster without the child on her back.  Read further.

  1. Why Muslims are so helpless and vision-less. Dependent and lazy. They have the best source of knowledge and yet they do not follow it but read it like a parrot.
The others have understood its benefits and essence. They have adopted it and became successful. For most of the Muslim countries, the situation is like darkness under the beacon.
I wish these people of Mauritania should help themselves without seeking an outside help. Which will enslave them more on a longer run.
No one can say about any situation for definite but these people are innocently trusting foreigners thinking them as their liberators. which is not the case often.
In most cases the outsiders come as a helper or saviour, well wisher and take charge.
It is never wise to get help from others in these matters.
What a successful Nation needs is self esteem* (*very much needed)vision, determination, honesty and hope from God. which Muslims very much lack now a days.
May God help every oppressed in this world. May God have Mercy on Muslim Ummah.Amen
