PAKISTAN: A maimed democracy that denies its citizens the right to vote

Asian Human Rights Commission: Statement : The Asian Human Rights Commission has had discussions with the leaders of the Ahmadis, a religious minority community of Islam, at Lahore, Punjab province. During these discussions it was found that they are denied access to practice their religion at local mosques and that Quranic scriptures engraved or painted on the walls of their own mosques are erased by Muslim extremists in the very presence of the police.

According to Islamic law no Quranic verse may be removed however, in a country that is always ready to utilise blasphemy laws to their favour no action has been taken against either the extremists or the police.

  1. Human Rights Restoration International Forum strongly condemns this double standard and ask that all discriminatory laws are repealed to uphold the equality of all citizens irrespective of the religious beliefs. They should exercise their practices in accordance with their beliefs without interference by the government.

  2. Ahmadis are not aliens but have been made aliens in their own country by Mullahs led conspiracy in collaboration with Bhutto and Zia declaring them non Muslims for the purposes of constitution and law classified into non Muslims and asked to vote as no Muslims when they are not and consider themselves to be Muslims. They have rejected their right to vote at the cost of denouncing their religion to appease the intruder Mullahs of Majlise Ahrar who intruded into Pakistan after 1947 were against the creation of Pakistan and exploited people in the name of Khatme Nabuwwat and this exploitation continues.
