In Pakistan, a rally against an Ahmadi mosque

Anti-Ahmadi campaign draws thousands, sparks online reactions

More than 5,000 people rallied on Sunday against the Ewane Tawheed mosque, which was built by an Ahmadi group in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi. Protesters alleged it was constructed without official authorisation, while the Ahmadiyya community claimed it purchased the land through a registered organisation.

Pakistan’s blasphemy laws prohibit Ahmadis from calling themselves Muslim or referring to their places of worship as mosques.

While many took to the streets, others used the Twitter hashtag #EwaneTawheed to voice their concerns over what they say is the continued persecution of the Ahmadiyya community.

  1. Strange as it may seem to ‘outsiders’ we have to congratulate Al Jazeera for calling an Ahmadi Mosque a Mosque. Most Pakistani media for instance would not have the courage. A step in the right direction (a small, but significant one).

  2. Just to Know:
    A Man is born to follow the God laws insted of Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.
    In the Holy Qur’an a Man is guided by No:1 Big Lord Allah follows;
    1. Follow the Messengers (Quran Chapter36verse21)
    2. (Ask) and what reason have I that I should not worship Him Who has created me and unto Whom you will be brought back?. Shall I take others besdie Him as gods? If the Gracious God should intend me any harm,their intercession will avail naught, nor can they rescue me.(Qur’an Chapter 36 Verses 23-24)
    Note: According Qur’an Law every person have a right to beleive that NO;1 Big Lord Allah is a Craetor. A man who believes No:1 Big Lord Allah is his Creator and Mohammad is No:1 Big Lord Allah’s Messenger is a Muslim. A Muslim man and woman have a right to worship only to NO:1 Big Lord Allah in the our Global Village including Pakistan peacefully.
