Mourad Dhina, opposant algérien, un des membres fondateurs du Mouvement Rachad (Droiture), a été interpellé à Orly lundi dernier suite, semble-t-il, à une ancienne demande des autorités algériennes. Il s’apprêtait à rejoindre son domicile en Suisse – où il s’est réfugié en 1995 – après avoir participé, à Paris, à une réunion du conseil exécutif de l’organisation. Mourad Dhina est physicien, ancien chercheur au CERN (Laboratoire européen pour la physique des particules) et professeur à l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Zurich.
Le Mouvement Rachad, fondé en 2007, prône un changement de régime en Algérie par des moyens pacifiques. Il «bannit toute forme d’extrémisme, d’exclusion ou de discrimination et prône la non-violence».
Le Mouvement Rachad rejette tout justificatif légale à l’arrestation d’un résistant politique et d’un militant des droits de l’homme par les autorités françaises qui elle-même avait permis la fuite du général Nezzar, premier responsable du coup d’état du 11 janvier 1992 et impliqué dans des crimes contre l’humanité et qui alors était poursuivit par la justice française suite à des plaintes déposées par des citoyens algériens soumis à la torture par les services du régime. Ainsi, au moment où le monde arabe vit un tournant historique et tourne la page à la tyrannie et à la corruption, les autorités françaises continuent à traiter le cas algérien avec la logique des deux poids et deux mesures.

Mourad Dhina, an Algerian born physicist who holds a P.hd. from MIT. He worked as researcher at the European Organization for Nuclear Research and also the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. He has initiated a movement called “Rachad Movement” which advocates of regime change in Algeria by peaceful means. He is of the ideas which are opposing of extremism and discrimination of all type. He is also an advocate of non violence. He was in Paris recently to address a meeting of the executive board of the organization and was arrested by French police. There is a possibility of him being extradited to Algeria. His organization rejects any legal justification for the arrest of political and human rights activist by the French authorities.
The French double standard can be understood from the fact that they had initially allowed the escape of General Nezzar, the first head of the coup in Algeria. General Nezzar is said to be involved in crimes against humanity. Complaints filed by citizens of Algeria for justice of torture by the regime which was then agreed by the French courts.

Thus, when the Arab world saw a historic turning point towards democracy, liberty and got rid of tyranny and corruption, the French authorities continue to treat the case of Algeria with double standards.
