Jun 9, 2013 Osmanabad: The second Salana Ijtema (annual gathering) of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (Youth Wing of Ahmadiyya Muslim Movement), Mumbai zone had to be terminated soon after inauguration, as a large group of Muslims lead by extremists Clerics gathered around the Bait-ul-Ghalib Mosque premises and created an atmosphere of terror and tension.

The extremists started shouting slogans and abusing the Ahmadi Muslims with the filthiest words they could use… who are aware of the persecution of Ahmadiyya would also be well aware that this was just another moment for them where their patience was tested against abusive accusations and filthy labels by clerics.

They alleged that the Ahmadiyya Muslims were doing forceful religious conversions and also that the people inside the mosque were held there “by force”.

The mob, not being satisfied by the response of abuse, then tried to break-in into the mosque. By the grace of Almighty Allah few Khuddam (Ahmadiyya Youth) were able to hold them outside mosque premises (All Praise is to Allah that he granted such brave youth to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community).

By God’s Grace further attempts of the attackers was stopped by the timely arrival of police.

Considering four complaints filed by the attacking group (for forcefully doing religious conversions inside the mosque) Police arrested one of the Ahmadi member by name Tariq Ahmed.

Dr Basharat Ahmed President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Osmanabad then rushed to police station, and explained all truth to the district Police Inspector. This made him understand the matter, the he released the arrested person (Tariq Ahmed sb) but with a order to stop the Ijtema and to send back to all guests… only to maintain peace, and Law and Order in the city.

This program was only a sort of a personal gathering with no use of loud speakers.

Approximately 161 attendees (including ladies and children) had come from from 12 different places like Mumbai, Pune, Sawantwadi, Sangli, Solapur, etc. None were hurt, as reported, Al’humdulillah.

Law abiding Ahmadiyya community promised obedience to all the orders of Police Inspector Mr Gadge and left.

Meanwhile Clerics at Bait ul Galib Mosque were not only busy gathering mob and bullying it but were demanding to enter into the mosque to preach the attendees & guests what they call ‘the real Islam’ or were demanding to take them all to some other place.

But we requested the police for protection of all our guests, and denied every request of the Mullahs.

Owing to the tension created, the Sadr (President) of Osmanabad unit of Ahmadiyya Jamat announced cancellation of the event and started sending back the guests arrived so as to restore peace and calm the atmosphere. While the police helped us, the infuriated clerics ordered their followers (approximately a count not lesser than 1000 people) to block the way and stop our vehicles.

They tried persuading a few our guest attendees and make them to file a complaint against us  (Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Osmanabad) that we bought them with false information and were now trying to convert them into Ahmadiyya forcibly.

Police with the help of Almighty Allah overpowered the gathering and the tension was averted to peace within a matter of 3 hours.

Earlier in 2008 hate-speeches against Ahmadiyya Community had led few extremists to burn a shop of an Ahmadi Muslim by name Abdul Nayeem. These clerics had then demanded a law to be passed in India (as was done in Pakistan) declaring us Non-Muslims which the Government of India rejected on the grounds of fundamentals of secularism directed by the constitution.

In India, Ahmadis are held to be Muslims by law. This is supported by a verdict from the Kerala High Court on 8 December 1970 in the case of Shihabuddin Imbichi Koya Thangal vs K.P. Ahammed Koya, citation A.I.R. 1971 Ker 206. In this landmark ruling, the court determined that Ahmadis are Muslims and that they cannot be declared apostates by other Muslim sects because they hold true to the two fundamental beliefs of Islam: that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad was a servant and messenger of god.

To those who do not know the Ahmadi Muslims: We are a group of Muslims who believed in the Promised Messiah Hazrath Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian whose arrival is foretold in all major religions of the world like Islam Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.

For this reason, the entire community has been facing all sorts of persecution all over the world ever since its beginning. We are not even regarded as Muslims by the majority of Muslim leaders of the world.

The Islamic country Pakistan constitutionally declared Ahmadi Muslims are Non-Muslims and denied them their basic constitutional rights like right to vote, right for education, etc. Going a step further to stop their spread their print publications, websites and magazines were also targeted. Apart from the denial of human rights & constitutional right, the right to live was also denied with the announcement that Ahmadis are ‘Wajib-ul-Qatl” through a program in Pakistan. Though many Ahmadi Muslims still live they are degraded to the level that every basic element of Islamic life used (upto the extent that we cannot say “Assalamualaikum”), is termed as a legal Criminal offence earning us either imprisonment or fine or both (Ref. http://www.persecutionofahmadis.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/b-Ordinance-XX.pdf)

That is absolutely true that, Indian police is much better than Pakistan. By the grace of Allah the Almighty fortunate thing is that, nobody get hurt and that is just miracle, even some of them succeeded to enter into mosque boundary through walls and few of them carried weapons too, sources said.
