The Department of Defense has identified 1,633 American service members who have died as a part of the Afghan war and related operations. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans this week:

BERNIER, Nicholas P., 21, Specialist, Army; East Kingston, N.H.; 10th Mountain Division.

GOYET, Mark R., 22, Lance Cpl., Marines; Sinton, Tex.; First Marine Division. read here
