MUMBAI: Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband has asked the Saudi Arabian government to ban Ahmadiyas (Qadiyanis) from visiting Mecca and Medina to perform Haj and Umrah (mini-Haj). Ahamdiyas have been declared non-Muslims in countries like Pakistan and face persecution.

The seminary’s vice-rector, Maulana Abdul Khaliq Madrasi, has alleged that many Qadiyanis from India “disguise themselves as Muslims” and visit Mecca to perform Haj and Umrah in a memorandum to Saudi ruler King Abdullah, the custodian of two mosques in Mecca and Medina. “Stop them as they are misguided and may mislead other Muslims,” said the memorandum.

Recently, through media report, it was pointed out that Indian Deobandis are different to Pakistanis at least on interpretation of Jehad/terrorism. Indian Deob. considers acts of terrorism as un-Islamic. Deoband, in fact, is off shoot to Wahabism of Saudi Arabia which grabbed the power of Kingdom since long. Surprisingly, up till now, most of the terrorists dead or caught alive in Pakistan belonged to Deobandies Group of Pakistan. This group has hundered of Madrasas in Punjab, Pakistan, which are know as factroies of Jehadis. Now after having read the statement of this Indian Deob. it revealed that both groups of Deobandi be Pakistani or Indians are same side of a coin. This leader of Deobandi does not this basic fact that Saudis already banned Ahmadiyya from Haj or Umrah provided the relgious belief of pilgrim is knwon before hand. Since most of the countries do not indicate relegion on the passports, how this so called Deobandi leader then wants implementation of his wish is not clear from the statement.
