Ahmadiyya Muslim Character – Another Glimpse

The Muslim Outlook – by Shahid Pervaiz

Zafar Ali Khan

It was Lahore and in Mochi Gate Park that a Leader of the Masses would repeatedly provoke the mobs against Ahmadi Muslims. His inspirational oratory was worth adulation by millions of his audience {thousands present in the parks and many more reading it next morning published in his News Organ – Zamindar}.

Yes, it was Maulana Zafar Ali Khan – a politician, a journalist, a translator, a poet and one of the most aggressive instigators of Anti-Ahmadiyya Sentiments in British India.

Due to his involvement in politics – first in alliance with All India Congress via Ahrare Islam and later on in assistance to All India Muslim League; he staunchly criticized the British Colonialist Occupation of India – BUT – on the other side, he was one of the “Pioneers of Religious Intolerance” as the modern world experiences it today.

Maulana Zafar Ali Khan spent most part of his active (political) public life in preaching hatred against Ahmadi Muslims by his speech, his publications and his poetry.

And it was Lahore again that Hadrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad, the second Khalifa of Ahmadiyyat drove past Mcleod Road to witness that a lonely, paralyzed and weak looking person was stalled in a chair on the pavement in front of the office of Daily Zamindar.

On his inquisition, the person was identified as Maulana Zafar Ali Khan – deprived of financial resources, family support and health care.

The Khalifa instantly decided to help Maulana Zafar Ali Khan; and instructed his trusted aides like Maulana Abul Ata to liaise with the family (whatever was left of it) and arrange to have Maulana Zafar Ali Khan examined by the two leading doctors in Lahore – Lt. Colonel Ilahi Bakhsh and Syed Riaz Ali Shah and then if required, evacuate him to Murree Sanatorium.  All the expenses were “personally” picked by the Khalifa.

The arrangements were made and assistance of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was continued, until he passed away, on November 27, 1956.

  1. This investment of kindness and benevolence made by Hadhrat Khalifa-tu-Masih II shall not go waste in the eyes of Allah the Almighty. It shall be rewarded some day. Insha’Allah we will see that love and affection for Ahmadiyat and Ahmadies will pour from the bosoms of these enemies who are now pouring out venom and hatred. Keep praying for these arch enemies because our Master the Holy Prophet Mohammad ( Peace of Allah and His blessings be on him) did the same for the cruel people of Ta’if and Allah turned their hearts to Islam in Prophet’s (S.A.W) own life.

  2. Al-Nahl Chapter 16 : Verse 91
“Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred; …”

Nice! Would love to see more of these on the Muslim Times.

  3. “our Master the Holy Prophet Mohammad ( Peace of Allah and His blessings be on him) did the same for the cruel people of Ta’if”.

    The excellent exampler s.a. said:

“Mann raghiba an sunnati fa laysa minnee” [Bukhari]

i.e. whosoever is averse to (or turns away from) my Sunnah, he is not of me.

Yet we find that the religious leaders of the 15th Century AH are not only themselves averse to following the sunnah and teachings of Rasulullaah s.a., but they strive to turn other people away from practising the way of Muhammad s.a.

How blind and misguided is such a leader, and how astray from the right path are his ignorant followers!
