The study was inspired by Adamczyk’s earlier work where she observed the differences in HIV/AIDS infection rates between Christian- and Muslim-majority nations in which residents in Muslim-majority nations had lower infection rates than residents of Christian nations.

ScienceDaily (Oct. 17, 2012) — Hindus and Muslims are less likely than Christians and Jews to have premarital sex, and Muslims are the least likely among people of these religious groups to have extramarital sex, according to a new study that analyzed data on premarital and extramarital sexual behaviors in over 30 developing countries around the world.

Unfortunately divorce rates are rising among Muslims too…..
Saving yourself from HIV infection
The following article I had written in 2007:
Human sexual desire may be insatiable, the more we indulge in it the stronger it grows, until it destroys us in one form or the other. Unbridled attempts at quenching the sexual thirst is like putting out a fire with gasoline, it only burns with stronger flames!
We should judge any set of teachings, be they secular or religious, by the golden principle given to us by Jesus, may peace be upon him:
“When you stare into the abyss the abyss stares back at you.” — Friedrich Nietzsche
The detailed teachings mentioned in the Holy Quran about chastity are not matched by any other scripture. For details from the Holy Quran, see the book, the Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam.

“Unfortunately divorce rates are rising among Muslims too…..”
A consequence of going astray from the right path …. deviance from the way of the most favoured one … not giving preference to the deen over the dunya, for the Holy Prophet s.a. taught:
‘Fazfar bi zhaati-ddeen’, i.e. gain (in marriage) the one who is a possessor of the deen, and ‘possessor’ means more than just claiming it with the tongue, or making a show of it.
[49:14] and various verses and other revelations admonish against pride and vanity, whether it be a gender related sense of superiority or a tribal one, or be related to other differences between peoples, which cause one person and/or family to look down upon and behave oppressively towards the other.
The verses relating to marriage repeatedly emphasize taqwa, whereas many people do not follow this teaching which is the essence of Shari’ah.
Instead, hollow religious leaders sow the seeds of superficial notions in people’s minds, which works like poison to ruin the spirituality of generations.
When the general trend is to give preference to the deen and improve one’s morals and manners, there is an encouragement to all to better oneself, but if the trend is towards materialism, and Muslims give preference to materialistic notions in marital choices which are similar to the hindu caste system, then it is no surprise that the Muslim marriage failure rate will become closer and closer to the Hindu failure rate.
