AMMAN — One of the activities of the multinational joint military exercise “Eager Lion 2012” that was scheduled to be held on Wednesday in the Jaffer Desert in the southern region of the Kingdom was postponed due to the dusty weather.

“The drill will be held Thursday instead of today [Wednesday] due to the low visibility that resulted from the heavy dust that surrounded the area of the exercise,” Col. Odeh Shdeifat, director of the Jordan Armed Forces’ (JAF) Morale Guidance Department, told The Jordan Times on Wednesday.

The JAF had invited journalists to cover the exercise activity on Wednesday.

Journalists learned about the rescheduling after arriving at the exercise area, according to a reporter, who preferred anonymity.

He added that it was “difficult” to reach the area due to the “heavy” dust and low visibility.

The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has warned against low visibility caused by strong winds raising dust in most parts of the Kingdom.
