Jordan, China seek to enhance commercial, investment cooperation
AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday called for increasing efforts to end the crisis in Syria through peaceful ways, a Royal Court statement said.
During talks with a Chinese delegation, headed by Vice President of the National People’s Congress of China Han Qide, the King highlighted Beijing’s support for the Arab League stand on the situation in Syria that calls for a solution to the 11-month crisis without resorting to outside interference.
The Syria issue was also brought up during the delegates’ meeting with Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh, who urged China to “play a role in the region that reflects its great civilisation”, stressing the need for China to push for just enforcement of the international law so as to render the world a more peaceful place, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
At a meeting with Senate President Taher Masri, Han renewed Beijing’s position calling for non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs, Petra reported.
