Are There Really No Other Reasons To Be Good Other Than A Fear Of Going To Hell?

NPR just did a story on the  prevalence of hell in 2011.

Harold Camping, for example, predicted that everyone but a few chosen Christians were going to hell on May 21 (and then again on October 21.)

And a movie featured hell.

And a bestseller featured hell. And that bestseller floated some controversial theories about hell that made a lot of people uncomfortable.

Specifically, the bestseller, Love Wins, by preacher Rob Bell, took issue with the prevalent Christian idea that only a few good people will go to heaven and everyone else will burn in hell.

Bell looked across the world and saw lots of seemingly decent people who didn’t worship the same God as Christians, and he figured that maybe these people might not end up in hell.
