  1. In the male dominated society, it is very easy to do wife bashing. Even if I accept this 20% wives attacking their husbands (in fact this number is under 10% according to a UN global survey of 2009), what about 80% wife beatings by their husbands? When you read statistics about domestic violence, it is enough to shake one’s soul. It is It is convenient for men to close their eyes about domestic violence by male partners. Don’t these Muslim countries allow wife beating just on the fear of disobedience to their husbands?

  2. An other intresting comment has attracted the media attention. Interior Minister of Pakistan, while giving statement on target killings in the city of Karachi, stated that 30% deaths in target killings are those husbands whose wives wanted to get rid of them. Should we call it also woman s right?

Dear Mr Kahlid Perwez, the source provided by Mr Rafiq clearly indicates that many husbands never report the beating they get from their wives. It is a psychological phenomenon. In a male dominated soceity no man will disclose or will accept such beating. As such the authencity of global survey or your percentage reamins debateable.
