“Time and again opponents of Islam allege Islam to be a religion of extremism and thus create rancor about it,” said the Khalifa of Islam, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad.
He said, “Each act of terrorism that takes place in the world whether it is perpetrated by people known as Muslims or anyone else or is committed by so-called Islamic group or Jihadi organisations, is attributed to the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) and they are targeted with offensive and foul phraseology,” while giving his Friday Sermon in Baitul Futuh Mosque.
He quoted from the Holy Quran, highlighting the teachings of Justice in the Holy Quran:
O ye who believe! be strict in observing justice, and be witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or against parents and kindred. Whether he be rich or poor, Allah is more regardful of them both than you are. Therefore follow not low desires so that you may be able to act equitably. And if you conceal the truth or evade it, then remember that Allah is well aware of what you do. (Al Quran 4:136)
He preached to his followers of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to not only publicize this teaching, but, to become living model of this teaching of honesty and justice.
He emphasized that only way to convey peaceful teachings of Islam is by becoming paragons of virtue and justice and by genuinely practicing the Golden rule: “Wish for others what you wish for yourself!”
He stressed urgent need of prayers to rise to these high standards.
