Catholicism’s future

Source: The Economist:

FATHER Brendan Hoban is a priest in a remote Irish village who is also active in the national and international Catholic scene. In the midst of this busy life, he told me, he often reflects on something he heard from a professor when he was in seminary 40 years ago. “Irish people,” the professor remarked, “have a great sense of the usefulness of things. When things are not seen as useful any more, they are discarded. In the era when the Irish language was seen as not useful for people’s lives and careers, they stopped speaking it. And that may eventually happen to the structures of the Catholic church.”

  1. In depth analysis of various view points indicate Catholic Pope failing to guide or lead the followers according to the challenges of the current era. Followers seem to be disappointed and getting no satisfactory answers to propping up religious problems. Might be time has come to look for alternative. Why not examine Islam in its true perspective as interpreted by Ahmadiyya. After all it is a revealed religion having last law bearing prophet and Quran speakes about all the aspects of mankind of current age.

  2. There is no way for the Christians except that they come to some understanding with Muslims, specially Ahmadi Muslims. The Christian preachers had been preaching their faith to all world countries and offering bibles in many languages.
They were rewarded with success and many followers in the world.
Now every one has got hold of the bible given by the church system. Every one is reading and finding faults with it. They need proper answers.
It may be about celibacy i.e. living unmarried life, it may be about marriage and divorce and remarriage etc. There are many problems about the church theology.
In any case, Christianity initially evolved out of rebellion against Judaism. Then it forsake with the law given by God to Moses. Jesus never did anything against the Mosaic law. Why the Christians are happily doing everything against that law and against Jesus?

Take the case of Unitarian faith that was the basis of Judaism. Trinity is a revolt against that. Neglect of Sabath and Circumcision and consumption of the flesh of swine are other examples. Justification is created for these bad practices.
Creating three gods equal to One God is another problem. Church should come to some understanding with Islam and Judaism for a resulting peaceful life in the world. The Christians are still spreading misinformation against Islam while their own house is not in good order. Let us hope that Church leaders try to improve their stand.
