Several Ahmadiyya houses also torched
Religious bigot allegedly involved with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday launched attack on houses and a mosque of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at leaving at least two houses gutted, 15 injured including seven police members injured in Hariar Kuti union under Taraganj upazila, Rangour.
Mostafizer Rahman , officer-in-charge of Taraganj Police Station told The Daily Star that a group of people attacked on Ahmadiyya’s houses centering construction of a mosque by them.
AMJ claimed three local Jamaat leaders–Abul Kasem, Abdul Kader and Kazi Rafiqul Islam led the attack.
“Following announcement in a loudspeaker against Ahamaduyya at around 2:00pm several thousands people with sticks in hands marched towards the mosque of Ahmadiyya,” local sources said.
OC Mostafizur confirmed that mob set ablaze two of Ahmadiyya houses.
He also said police arrested 11 people on charge of their involvement in the attack. “But we yet to identify their political affiliation,” said the OC.
Local sources said 20 Ahmadiyya families live in Kismat Mena Nagar in Hariar Kuti union and all male members of those families are on the run fearing further attack on their houses.

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّکُمْ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَـوْفِ وَالْجُوْعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْوَالِ وَالْاَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرٰتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصّٰبِرِیْنَ
اَلَّذِیْنَ اِذَآ اَصَابَتْھُمْ مُّصِیْبَةٌ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّآ اِلَیْہِ رٰجِعُوْنَ
اُولٰٓئِکَ عَلَیْھِمْ صَلَوٰتٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّھِمْ وَ رَحْمَةٌ وَاُولٰٓئِکَ ھُمُ الْمُھْتَدُوْنَ
اور ہم ضرور تمہیں کچھ خوف اور کچھ بھوک اور کچھ اموال اور جانوں اور پھلوں کے نقصان کے ذریعہ آزمائیں گے۔ اور صبر کرنے والوں کو خوشخبری دےدے۔
اُن لوگوں کو جن پر جب کوئی مصیبت آتی ہے تو وہ کہتے ہیں ہم یقیناً اللہ ہی کے ہیں اور ہم یقیناً اسی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں۔
یہی لوگ ہیں جن پر ان کے ربّ کی طرف سے برکتیں ہیں اور رحمت ہے اور یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو ہدایت پانے والے ہیں۔
And We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives, and fruits; but give glad tidings to the patient,
Who, when a misfortune overtakes them, say, ‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.’
It is these on whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy, and it is these who are rightly guided.
It is a very sad news that the members of Jama’at-e-Islami Bangla Desh led an organized attack on the Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque and also burnt two houses of Ahmadis of Harier Kuti Union of Rangour. Let all the fair minded citizen pray along with members of the Ahmadiyya community of this small town that they feel safe and secure in their own homes with all the members of the community hope and pray that better sense will prevail and all those indulging in their nefarious acts of vandalizing places of worship and torching homes because of the differences of religious nature must stop this sort of nonsense, at the earliest and for ever, by the grace pf God Almighty. All citizens must be allowed to live a life of freedom of religion and human conscience, Ameen.
