T.I. Ahmadiyya Girls S.H.S. gets more support from P.T.A.

Kumasi, Nov 01, GNA – The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the T.I. Ahmadiyya Girls Senior High School (SHS) is making some significant contributions towards the development of the school.

It has built a new classroom block and provided it with two vehicles – a 60-seater and 15-seater buses, at a total cost of over GH¢104,000.00.

Mr Hakeem Baidoo, the Chairman of the PTA, said the association was currently engaged in the construction of bungalows to house some of the teachers and that more than GH¢65,000.00 had so far been pumped into it.

Speaking at the launch of the school’s 40th anniversary celebration in Kumasi, he said they would do everything to complete the project on time.

He said as parents they would continue to be involved in efforts at helping to create the right environment for effective teaching and learning.

The theme for the anniversary is “Development through girl-child education; the role of stakeholders”.

Miss Aisha Boakye Nyantakyiwaa, the Headmistress, said the school’s academic performance has been impressive.

She said in the 2012 West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for example, it scored 99.35 percent pass.

She said this had largely been due to the high level of discipline among the students and teachers.
