A little girl’s anguished tears over listening to a story about U.S. presidential politics one more time has struck a nerve across the world.

More than 1.2 million viewers have watched the 22-second clip of 4-year-old Abigael in just two days.

Abby started sobbing on a grocery shopping trip with her mother Elizabeth Evans in their hometown of Fort Collins, Colo., while they were listening to a National Public Radio broadcast.

Asked why she was crying, Abby told her mother, “I’m tired of Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney.”

Her mother consoled her, “It’s okay, Abby, it’ll all be over soon.”

Her mother also filmed her and posted it to YouTube.

“We are all Abigael Evans,” intoned Time magazine. Mother Jones magazine declared Abby “the soul of a nation.”

NPR apologized and gave Abby a pin and an ice cream.

“On behalf of NPR and all other news outlets, we apologize to Abigael and all the many others who probably feel like her,” the broadcaster said.

“Let’s just keep telling ourselves: “Only a few more days, only a few more days, only a few more days.’”
