Sunni supremacist groups have terrorised the Ahmadiyyas in Pakistan and declared them non-Muslims. This hatred is now taking roots in India. Sai Manish reports…
“The breed of Qadianis will never change. They may multiply up to 99 generations; still the 100th one will continue to be a dualist-infidel and apostate. The reason is that their crime is a never-ending one. The offence will never cease to exist in their progeny. Let it be clear to every Muslim that the crime of apostasy runs throughout the lineage of a Qadiani. If he is adamant and refuses to renounce his apostasy, then Allah’s sacred soil deserves to be cleaned of his foul existence. By the law of Shariat, they should be awarded capital sentence because they are dualist-infidels (zindiq). If they are masquerading as Muslims on the globe, it is because they have not been sentenced. Hunt the liar in his mother’s haunt [Britain]. I ask my Muslim brethren — Don’t you have any grace left in you to answer these shameless Qadianis? Peel their camouflage off from every nook and corner of the world, just as it has been done in Pakistan.”

IN RECENT days, as news of the Higgs Boson and the so-called god particle swept across the globe, some commentators in Pakistan referred to the strange and paradoxical case of the late Mohammad Abdus Salam. A physicist of renown and Pakistan’s first Nobel laureate, Salam is hardly remembered in his country, and even mocked because he belonged to the Ahmadiyya or Qadiani sect of Islam. In recent years, as Sunni supremacism and an extremist, Wahhabi form of the religion have gained ground in Pakistan, Ahmadiyyas have found themselves under attack.
Is the fire spreading to India? The Ahmadiyya sect was born in this country, its adherents being followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, a 19th century religious preacher who lived in Qadian, near Gurdaspur in Punjab. Yet today, a silent social boycott of the community in India is isolating it from other Muslims.
No one knows this better than Jehangir Ali, 82, a wizened resident of the Old City in Hyderabad. We are standing in his house, part of a complex that includes the 398-year-old Qutub Shahi Mosque, the family graveyard, living quarters and a small poultry business. “Look around you,” he says, “what do you see?” This reporter looks around — there are trees, a railway line, and more trees. There’s nothing really; rare open spaces in the otherwise congested neighbourhood of Falaknuma.
That’s exactly the point Ali is trying to make — his and his family’s exile from the community. His family — including those of his two sons and two grandsons — has not just been excluded and pushed to the margins, it has been repeatedly threatened.
Religious zealots, backed by the Andhra Pradesh Wakf Board, are claiming ownership of the mosque Ali’s family has so lovingly tended to.
“This mosque was in a bad shape when my grandfather came here in 1890,” says Ali. “He became its caretaker and spent his money restoring it. Not even a single person came here to read namaz back then. Even today, no one else comes here to pray except us. They still want to throw us out.”
On 18 February, the Wakf Board issued an order resolving to “take over possession of the mosque and the graveyard from the custody of the Qadianis. Since Sunni or Shia mosques cannot be administered by non-Muslims, it is ordered that the said property be taken under the Wakf’s direct management”. In effect, the Wakf Board declared the Ali family non-Muslims.
Despite his frail health, Ali is not giving up. “I will continue to tackle all this legally,” he says. “My father rests here in his grave and so will I. And so will my son and his son and his.”
While his determination is admirable, Ali’s case is not unique. A growing intolerance is beginning to leave its impact on India’s Ahmadiyyas, in line with disturbing trends in other parts of the Muslim world. What is particularly worrying is it is not just a radical fringe that is attacking Ahmadiyyas but established and powerful Muslim organisations as well.
During a public meeting at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan in May this year, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind called for a “complete social boycott” of Ahmadiyyas. Deobandi leaders, under Abdul Qasim Nomani, congratulated the Andhra Pradesh Wakf Board for its decision to take over Ahmadiyya properties and urged Wakf Boards of other states to do so.
Muslim political parties such as the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) are hardly immune to such hate speech. In March, an Ahmadiyya mosque in Saidabad, Hyderabad, was attacked while many people, including women and children and the elderly, were offering prayers. Stones were pelted and a petrol bomb assault threatened if the “Qadianis don’t fall in line”.

Well someone has to give Mr Sain Manish the more actual information. The information that he has is not sufficient. But he sure tried to convey the matter by what he knew.
One thing that I would like to tell him is if he or anyone will go through the main sources of knowledge of Islam, Its Holy Book Quran, Sunnah ( the practice of the Holy Prophet) and Hadith ( the sayings of the holy Prophet) he would know it is them who have hijacked the name of Islam and started almost a new religion. That is why the advent of Promised Messiah was foretold by the Holy Prophet of Islam. This is one aspect. which needs to be verified by the the main sources of Islam.
The other fact is that it is them that were more loyal to British not Ahmadies. It is them and their elders out of their loyalty and well wishing received lands and titles. It was their leaders (before the advent of the Promised Messiah) signed a petition that since the British government was not discriminative and the all the religion under their government were free to practice, hence Jehad with them is not applicable. Bur rather it will be called traitory, not Jehad.Such war will be considered Un-Islamic.(I wish someone would provide the referenced here.)
Exactly this was the point that Promised Messiah raised. And Islam commands a Muslim to be Loyal and abide within the law of his Government, be it a Muslim or Christian Govt. And also Holy Quran says, “should there not be a favour in return of favour?”. Moreover the holy Quran says,”whoever does not be thankful to fellow human beings cannot be ever thankful to God”. As for Ahamdiyyah Jamaat in Israel. Ask these bunch of assumed angels what did the Holy Prophet Of Islam say in regards of Jews? Bycott them? No! he said be nice and caring towards your neighbour even if he is a Jew.
The Jews or non Muslims from which Islam warns to stay away are the the ones that are shows open enmity, that wage war on you and are traitors.
Ahmadeis believe them to be the creation of God too that is why they should be given the message of Islam. Because we and the other Muslims believe that the Prophet of Islam PBUH was sent to the whole mankind. And Islam is a universal message.
Third fact is if a third party checks the accusation of these Non Ahmadi Muslims he will find that all the accusations against Ahmdies are fabricated and baseless.
Fourth fact the prosperity of Ahmadiyya Jamaat does not depend on the funds of its members. But on the Blessing and help of God. As He is the Provider, He is capable of providing source of provision.
Their dream will remain a dream to de-root Ahmdiyyat by a social or economic boycott. Inshallah
This opposition is only a sign of a true religion.So Allah is very much there to deal with such trouble makers.
The Holy Quran say which means to create unrest and stir among the people is worst then a murder”.
But why would they care for Religion. They are after the worldly gain. Their politics and power. It is them who are hungry for power and authority. By the Grace of God Ahmadies are only here to serve the mankind with humility and sincerity. Regardless of race colour or Creed. As our slogan show it” Love for all hatred for none”.
Like Jesus we do not aim any worldly kingdom but the Kingdom of Almighty all over the world.
The Promised one was not called by the Holy Prophet of Islam, Messiah for nothing. He was to establish religion the Kingdom of God peacefully like Jesus PBUH. Without any force or fatwa’s that makes the lives of non Muslims miserable. As almost every Non Ahmadi Mullah dreams to eradicate every Non Muslims with weapon. Sure such kind of Jehad was never Islamic. Anyone can see that the Holy Prophet only fought defensive wars and the wars against traitors within the Islamic Govt. Whenever given choice he always chose reconciliation with non Muslims.
I wish they knew what real Islam is all about. it is abut patience love and care.It is the who have foregotton Islam and have invented Islam of their own interpretation.
It is them that have changed the key that was provided to enter in the folds of Islam by Allah and His apostle. By merely reciting these words, There is no god (idol) but Allah( the only Supreme God) and that Mohammad is His messamger. Reciting this with intention makes a person enter the fort of Islam. But today’s Mullah has added the last messanger of God. The verse by which they ” declare” him the last. Was revealed even then the word “last” was not added in kalima or the main Creed of Islam.
But mullah thinks he knows more. Did anyone of them get a revelation for this change by Allah?
They have no Authority. In fact the Holy Prophet came to establish the oneness of Allah, not oneness of his own self.
Today these Muslims can bear n open shirk of Allah, they cam prostate before graves of the saints, that was strictly forbidden by the Holy Prophet of Islam. The pray to these saint like they pray to God. No brow is raised but rather appreciated. They have changed Islam to its core. And still consider themselves to be the true heirs of Islam. We do not mind. They may think or believe the way they want. But they have no right to pass a verdict on our belief.
Islam say ” actions are judged by intentions”. Ironically today intentions are judged by Mullahs.
Islam says “they is no compulsion in religion”. But today’s Mullah can take extreme measures to change someone belief. So much so that to kill them.
By this they are only buying wrath of Allah. Look at Pakistan how destroyed it has become. They should remember it was Pakistan that earned the divine virtue of declaring Ahmadies Non Muslims. But did Allah shower His blessings on this Nation?
Every type of disgrace and atrocity has fallen since after this verdict. And the Assembly that took pride in getting this honour lost every dignity and has become a laughing stock and reason of shame to Pakistan. The same assembly has destroyed Pakistan to its limits. this is the verdict of Allah against their conspiracies against innocents. Ahmdies are people of God whoever caused them pains shall face the same consequence.This is the set divine law for His loved ones. They are tried and are known . Then rewarded many fold and their enemies are destroyed. Can anyone say Pakistan is on the path of Progress. ever newspaper says it is on the brim of destruction.
We do not have to strike back. Rather we sit like a child in mother’s lap with tear in the eyes. With weapon of prayers and Allah take the situation in His hands. we do not believe in violence even in return. But like any sensible human we do remedies . Like Jehad of pen and bring awareness about this injustice.
The sign of divine Religion is it doe snot scum to opposition. The more the opposition the more it progresses. The opposition is its fertilizer.
May Allah give them the real sight of piety so that they can see what they are doing.Amen

Just read your article on the Ahmadi plight.
Thus far, India is a model in its largest democracy and significant ethnic diversity within the same subcontinent.
The educated of India must consider, as they lift their nation through advancements in technology, world economy and academics that the so called religious scholars, these clerics, mullahs and Imams, had NO hand to play in any success that India is achieving. So too in the area of peaceful living amongst people of all faiths, their ignorance will only spew hatred, death and destruction. India must not follow the clerics of Pakistan.
India’s greatness and success following this short 65 years since the partition has been astronomical when compared to its counterpart Pakistan.

From growth & stability perspectives spanning areas from education, economy, political stability, religious freedoms etc…one can hardly make a comparison! Pakistan stands at the pit of destruction while India soars towards prosperity.
Pakistan has only itself to blame: it’s immoral and unchecked “God-less” approach in all matters of nation building has now brought them to the international arena of shame.
Pakistan’s problem is not Ahmadiyya but on the contrary, it is the complete void & vacuum of “the moral ground”, the lack of justice, fairness, freedoms, accountability, basically it just refuses to “do the right thing”!
Your article talks of India following Pakistan’s lead with respect to the clerics and Ahmadi persecution…..
So, is India ready to spiral down into the abyss which we call Pakistan?

Well written response by above writer Ms Anisa.
Readers of Tehelka must consider both the secular & non secular paths to peace, which can ultimately only come from God. The Ahmadiyya approach is most consistent with that of the founder of Islam Hazrat Mohummad Mustafa (peace be upon him).
As Arabia was the soil chosen by God for the appearance of Prophet Mohummad (pbuh) amongst the most decayed people, so was India, the soil chosen by God for the appearance of His Messiah & Imam Mahdi, amongst the most decayed Muslims of the time.
And this is the reinforcing point: post partition India is advancing because it refused to be distracted by the petty minds of maulvis & clerics which crippled post partition Pakistan into a post partum depression.
So now if India follows suit, or for that matter Bangladesh or Indonesia or any opponent of Peace, they will be met with inevitable displeasure of God as clearly visible in Pakistan today which the world is now observing.

Very right. India only progressed because it did not give space to Mullahism of any sort in the politics.
If it wants peace it should never make this mistake. No religious fanatic from any back ground be allowed to harass its people and economy. It is suicidal for the progress of any nation.

The Holy Quran says very clearly false prophets will be seized by Allah and their mission will be completely annihilated.But these mullah says Allah’s Omnipotence is no match against British Raj, Americans and now against Zionists.What made the British Raj to divide the muslims of India? Were the muslims of India at that time united? Are they united now? The mullahs know neither Islam nor history.Ahmadiyyas were there in Telaviv even before the birth of Isreal!
