Dollar diplomacy disaster in Pakistan

Russian TV: The standoff between Washington  and Islamabad was the longest and most expensive exhibition of overwhelming arrogance by the White House to date.

On the eve of the Independence Day, after an interminable string of near misses, the seven-month gridlock between the two countries was finally broken. With the State Department issuing an elaborate statement to be perceived as an acceptable apology for a cross-border fire exchange, Pakistan called off a blockade on NATO supplies to Afghanistan.

As the Obama administration is counting on this deadliest friendly fire incident in Pakistan to be swept under the rug as soon as possible, this mutually antagonizing & agonizing crisis management ordeal will unlikely to be forgotten because it laid bare US foreign policy rules of engagement, unrepentant and unabashed as they are.

The White House Cook Book for Dummies on World Affairs might as well contain the following guidelines for contingency planning.
