The English sayings that time and tide wait for no man and that time flies accurately and perfectly apply as we look back at 2011. It was almost yesterday that celebrations were held all around the world to welcome 2011. People were praying for peace, wishing each other the very best and a better new year.

Of course, we will not be incorrect if we describe 2011 as a remarkable year, full of news, good and bad, and leaving unforgettable marks on the history of mankind. A lot has been written on this and I would not like to repeat what has already been said, so I will attempt to sum up this year very briefly.
It has been a year of struggle for the sake of freedom, human rights and democracy. On one side, we have seen people in their hundreds of thousands protesting and thousands among them gave their lives for their rights, dignity and freedom.
On the other hand, some rulers were seen fighting to prolong their era of denial of human rights, of disrespect to the sentiments and voices of their own people and of iron fist rule.
There were also natural disasters. A powerful earthquake in Japan led many towns and villages to disappear from the surface of the earth. New Zealand and Turkey were also rocked by earthquakes.
Pakistan recorded heavy rains and the worst floods in history affecting more than eight million people. Thailand too experienced floods.
It is good to know:
1. Affection and kinship can change a bitter enemy into a warm and loyal friend
2. Rumers are spread by haters, accepted by idiots and followed by foolish.
3. Love is spead by Lovers, accepted by scholars and followed by peacemakers.
Freakish “Half-Human Creature” Born To A Sheep In Nigeria

Another “half-human creature” has been born to a sheep. This time it has happened in Nigeria. A picture of this freakish creature is posted to the left. So exactly what is this bizarre creature that was born to a sheep in Nigeria? Why are so many weird creatures being born to animals all over the globe? Are these simply normal mutations that are getting a ton of press coverage because of our overactive imaginations? Are these creatures the product of sexual relations between humans and animals? Could alien experimentation be involved? Unfortunately, we may never know the truth and these creatures are likely to remain one of the great unexplained mysteries of the world. But it sure is alarming to see freakish creatures like this being born all around the globe.

If it is due to racism, then they should know read [49:14] and realise that arrogance is most hateful in the sight of Allah. Some people have a superficial knowledge of the deen, such as Paul, to whom disciple James r.a. said ‘you shallow man’, as recorded in the Bible.
Another example is the use by some persons of the word ‘pretty’ in a worldly sense, but where used in the Qur’an, it invariably refers to spiritual beauty, and one aspect of spiritual beauty is not to dislike or hate or turn away from others due to superficialities.
Love is of different types, and nationalism is nowhere supported in the Holy Qur’an.
“There are three things, that whoever attains, will find the sweetness of faith: If Allah and his messenger are dearer to him than anyone else; if he loves a person solely for the sake of Allah…” [Bukhari & Muslim]
‘For those who love each other for the sake of Allah, there will be columns of light which will be the envy of the prophets and martyrs.” [Tirmidhi]
Akhi Ahmad, Shukran for the wisdom. May Allah(swt) help us to have such conduct which will please him. Summa aameen ya rabbal alameen!
