NEW DELHI — Last week in Mumbai, an old man accepted defeat.Anna Hazare sat cross-legged on a stage, enduring yet another fast and staring bleakly at a massive public ground that can fit 100,000 people but was not filling up with supporters as he had expected. Just a few thousand had turned out to watch, a small fraction of the numbers the 74-year-old man had attracted during his earlier fasts in NewDelhi to demand the creation of a powerful anti-corruption body called the Lokpal that would primarily roast politicians and bureaucrats. The news media, too, had grown tired of his fasts. All this and poor health forced Mr. Hazare to end his demonstration just a day after he had begun his three-day fast.

As his nine-month-old revolution floundered, the government presented its Lokpal bill in the upper house of the Parliament, where it was defeated by members citing its various provisions and technicalities.
I beg to differ, both from the title and text of original article. As both of them are misleading. Media and publication is something where things should be handled with sensitivity. Takwa is the key, and it should be free from Fitna. Apart from being respectful to all prophets and religious leaders, we should also be respectful(if possible) to leaders of key civil movements. Or at least not be dis-respectful at them. Anna Hazare is a man who is held with dignity by people of India. it’s a movement of commoners, though ahmadies are bound by 10 conditions of bait and basic teachings of Islam. I.e. not to rebel against rulers of land. Still if someone is doing things in a peaceful and lawful manner, he should be respected. His team comprises of people from different walks of life and from all comunities. Ma’salama

Two things I would like to say in connection with Azimul Haque Sahib’s comment. First I quote his words he says “Takwa is the key, and it should be free from Fitna. 1. In my view nothing disrespect for Anna Jee In the above news.
2. I differ with Mr. Haque at the comparision of Anna’s agitation with the 10 conditions of Baith.
In my view Anna is threating the peace of Indian society by hunger strike. God forbid if Anna collapse due to hunger who will be responsible for his death; Govt of India or Anna Him self? What type of death it will be as per Islam/10 conditions of Bait?
Anna is facilitating BJP & RSS against Manmohan Singh’s Govt. May I ask where Anna was somany years; Corruptions were there or not since 60s, 70s, 80s till 2000?
Pakis cannot tolerate India/Indians because it is a democratic, advance in science, more powerful & has more international prestige. They use special glasses when they read India.
Ahmadies are considered MUSLIMS in INDIA.
