Happy New Year … (as ‘celebrated’ by Hadhrat Khalifa-tul-Masih IV.)

It is reported that Hadhrat Khalifa-tul-Masih IV. – before he was elected Khalifa – during his stay in London was in town during the New Year’s Eve celebrations. When it was time for the New Year he took a Newspaper and put it on the floor and performed some ‘Nawafil’ prayers (voluntary prayers). When he finished he saw one English man in tears watching him. He asked him what was the matter and the Englishman replied: “The whole world is getting drunk and you are the only one that remembers God at this time”.

(My apologies: I do not have the exact quotation with me but am telling this story as it was told to me verbally. If I made any errors: corrections welcome).

  1. Jazakumullah. Happy New Year to all. Naya Saal Mubarak. You may hear the story in the exact words of Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (rh) in the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-jjmpVdpAc in the last part where he speaks the following subject: Significance of the new year for The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. May we carry with us the goodness from previous years and may this new year 2012 be filled with Allah’s most abundant blessings for us all. Ameen Allahumma Ameen
