In the first face-to-face encounter since his May 14 arrest in New York, Dominique Strauss-Kahn is Thursday set to face Tristane Banon (right), a French writer who has accused the former IMF chief of attempted rape in 2003.

The day will come when Strauss-Kahn wishes he were a Muslim. In a previous post I pointed out that if he would have married more than one wife he could have travelled together and would not have got into the “New York trouble”.
OK, agreed, we need not to have always this drastic measure. Conserning the interview with this French lady as a Muslim he should have remembered the following Hadith:
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) categorically prohibited privacy between a man and a non related woman. He said, “when a woman and man are alone Satan is the third.” (Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi as being sahih.
I have learned that many teachers for instance, in order to avoid any wrongful accusation, make it a point never to have an interview with a young girl alone.
How wonderful are Allah’s teachings! If we could only observe them properly we would not get so much into trouble. May Allah help us.
