Children Dress Up for EID Celebration

NeighborNewspaperCom Atlanta

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community took a day to celebrate EID ul Fitr on August 30th, after a month of fasting.

The celebration included an extra EID prayer and a sermon about what Muslims can do to help their community. This year it is donating blood for the “Muslims for Life” Campaign to honor the victims of 9/11.

The Ahmadis are inviting other faiths, friends and Community groups to join them to help fellow Americans in need. A blood donor clinic will be held at the mosque at: 6113 Oakbrook Parkway, Norcross, GA on Sept. 11, 2011 between 10:30-5:00. A prayer for the victims of 9/11 will be held between 4-5. Please join us. It is meant to be an interfaith event.

The Muslims celebrated the fast by eating a variety of cakes followed by a light lunch, which included chicken tikka, basmati rice and chicken legs in gravy. The mothers handed out candy and presents for the children to enjoy.
