Prince Feisal receives body of army officer killed in Afghanistan

AMMAN (JT) ––– Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, HRH Prince Feisal on Monday received the body of First Lieutenant Majed Abu Qdeiri at Marka Military Airport. A member of the Jordanian peace contingent in Afghanistan, Abu Qdeiri was killed on Sunday in an explosion in Logar Province. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mashal Al Zaben was also present at the airport along with several senior officers. Prince Feisal offered his condolences to Abu Qdeiri family on behalf of the King, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Four other officers who were also injured in the explosion are reported to be in fair condition. The injured officers are First Sergeant Khalil Ismael Shatti, Sergeant Ismael Mohammad Bani Ismael, Corporal “Mohammad Kheir” Omour and Soldier Mekhled Marayah. The peacekeeping forces recently renovated 34 mosques in Logar Province which were furnished and provided with copies of the Holy Koran.
