Mohammad (saw) prophecies’ return of Jesus – Messiah for Muslims

An Important Point: The coming of prophets has NOT ended with the advent of Prophet Mohammad (saw); prophets are expected after him as foretold by himself, the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw).

We (Mankind) can never remember things for long… Do we? Can you? and God, as he has promised in the Quran, will continue to produce prophets from amongst the common people to lead us sinners towards salvation.

The Holy Prophet (saw) had predicted the ruining of Islam in the latter days and said, ‘A time would come when there would remain nothing of Qur’an but its words and nothing of Islam but its name, meaning, On the whole: the true spirit of Islam would be lost’ (Baihaqui).

But again there’s a condition: The new prophet can only become such by following the foot-steps of The Lead, His Holiness Prophet Mohammad (saw) and this prophet can only be called a ‘Mohammadian Prophet’ or in an other way he is to be called an ‘Ummati Nabi (prophet) as he will be only from the Ummat (people) of Mohammad (saw). However, No new book of law can come now: The Holy Quran is the Last & final Sharia.

We all know that world was in dire need of spiritual guidance when our Holy Prophet (saw) had appeared in Arabia. The great and marvelous revolution which was brought about by the Holy Prophet (saw) among his people is called ‘resurrection’ in the Qur’an. This ‘resurrection’ was to take place twice, first by the advent of the Holy Prophet himself and then by his Second Advent in the person of a great Deputy of his – the Promised Messiah. This one Messiah would be called the ‘Maseeh-e-Maood’, the ‘Imam Mahdi’ & again ‘the re-advent of Jesus’ according to the different jobs assigned to him.

Hadhrat Ali (ra), one of the great Caliphs of Islam is reported to have said: ‘The Mahdi shall resemble the Holy Prophet in character and not in personal appearance. The Promised Messiah will point out the errors of Christianity and it is on this count that he is called Jesus son of Mary. He will restore Islam to its pristine glory and lustre and is called Ahmad.’ (Hadithul Ghasia)

We already know the prophecies, let’s remind ourself:

Coming of the Mahdi is told here: “I give you the glad tidings of Mahdi who will be raised in my Ummah (people) at a time of digression and distress of people. He will fill the earth with equity and justice as it is filled with oppression and violence.” (Musnad Ahmad Bin Hanbal, Vol. 3, p. 37)

And again we must not forget that the Holy Prophet himself had prophesized the return of Jesus in the later days, did he not?

Mohammad (saw) Prophesized re-advent (second coming) of Jesus: 

Re-Advent of Jesus Prophesied by the Prophet Mohammad (saw): “By the One who owns my soul, it is nigh, of a certainty that the son of Mary will appear among you. He will be a judge, he will be just; so he will break the cross (by bringing forth the truth about Jesus), kill the swine (swinish character employed by humans) and he will stop war (bring eternal peace) and abolish Jazia (tax)” (Sahih Bukhari, Kitab Bad’ul Khalq, Bab Nazooli Isa Bin Maryam )

“What will be your condition when the son of Mary will descend among you and he will be your Imam (Mahdi) from among yourselves?” (Sahih Bukhari, Kitabul Anbiya, Bab Nazool Isa)

And, the Holy Prophet had again said: 

“… Ummah (My people) can never die which has me (Mohammad) at one end, and the Messiah, son of Mary, at the other.” (Ibn Maja, Bab Al-I’atisam Bis-Sunnat)

Signs marking the coming of The Promised Ummati Prophet:

The prophecy in Surah Al’Jumah: “He it is Who has raised among the unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His Signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and Wisdom though before that they were in manifest error; And He will raise Him among others of them (again in the later times) who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.” Surah Al-Jummah 62:3-4

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) had said, “”Lau kaanal imaanu mu’allaqan biththurayya lanaaluhu rajulun min haa’ulaai”

Meaning: Even If Faith Disappeared From The Earth And Moved Up To The Zenith, A Man From These (descendants of his comapnions) Will Bring It Back To The Earth (Bukhari).”

Refering to the time of his advent:

Abdullah bin Amar (RA) relates that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said “Surely things will happen to my people as happened earlier to Israelites, they will resemble each other like one shoe in a pair resembles the other…, verily the Israelites were divided into 72 sections but my people will be divided into 73 sections, all of them will be in the fire except one.” (Trimizi, Kitabul Eeman) 

Refering to the region of his advent A Hadith says:

The Mahdi will descend near a white minaret in the east of Damascus. (Muslim).

The Holy Prophet (saw) has said that the Messiah will be raised in the East. (Ibn Majah).

You doubt me, don’t you?

Now, to those readers who think that the expecting a prophet is an impossibility in todays world or at least is not foretold in their religion: Please read below where I present a summarized form of prophecies foretelling coming of a prophet from the books of Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism, and many others.

Read them and you’ll know that almost all religions of this planet are awaiting their Messiah; C’mon! Have a reality check done if you doubt me.

This is a good news for the believers indeed as they’ll go forward and submit to be counted among the believers, however, unfortunately but true again is the fact that history will repeat itself again and a section will reject the Messiah and will be called the disbelievers; Faith is about to be tested again… test yourself dear reader, loose no time – you are already informed.
