How do young men who grew up in Switzerland become extremists? Following this Swiss TV report on three cases, the Federal Intelligence Service confirmed that of 15 Swiss citizens who have travelled to Syria, five became Jihadists. (SRF Rundschau, swissinfo.ch)
A team from the Swiss TV programme Rundschau investigated the cases of three known Jihadists from cantons Valais, Vaud and Lucerne, who converted to Islam and found their way to Syria to fight in the ‘Holy War’.
In the report, a security expert from the Federal Institute for Technology in Zurich, Lorenzo Vidino, explains how young Muslims become radicalised.
In a separate interview for Swiss TV, Markus Seiler, head of the Intelligence Service, said that terror acts had been prepared on Swiss targets, for example airports and international organisations in Geneva, and that on a scale of 1-10 for jihad terror activity, Switzerland was currently a 3 – “although this could quickly rise to a 6”.
The Intelligence Service has also recruited informants outside mosques, Seiler confirmed.

The Muslim Malaise!
Assalaamu ‘Alaykum,
We are now at the dawn of the 21st Century, The Muslim Malaise is getting more alarming, sadly. The Muslim World is so fragmented, that AL-ISLAM, per se, has become a non entity towards the Homo-sapiens Welfare on this most beautiful Planet.
As a Muslim, neither a “Sunni” nor a Shi’te, indeed not an Ahmadi or a Wahhabi or a Sufi. I’m saddened of The Muslim World’s declared faith and action.
I believe in THE ONENESS OF THE ALMIGHTY (Tauhid), The Qur’anic Message, and All the Prophets of GOD – from Adam to Muhammad (Peace be on them all).
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) actualised his faith in his Socio-Economic and Political Life, thus he gave true meaning to Knowledge (‘ILM), Ethics, Justice. He showed his appreciation to The Flora and The Fauna, indeed he showed his deep respect to The CREATOR’S Beauties and Bounties. The Noble Qur’an
certifies The Prophet’s accomplishments very precisely:” You have indeed in The Apostle of GOD the most excellent example.”33:21. So, what is the problem with The Muslims in the 21st Century?
In the Muslim World the Woman’s Treatment is appalling. The abject Poverty and the the rampant Illiteracy must have no place in any Muslim Society. The Muslims’records in Education, Science and Technology are shameful to say the least, but The Noble Qur’an explicitly says: ” WE explain The Signs in detail for those who reflect.” 10:24
