World’s Muslim population more widespread than you might think

1.6billion

There are about 1.6 billion Muslims, or 23% of the world’s population, making Islam the second-largest religion.
An estimated 1.6 billion Muslims around the world are Muslims, making Islam the world’s second-largest religious tradition after Christianity, according to the December 2012 Global Religious Landscape report from the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life.

Although many people, especially in the United States, may associate Islam with countries in the Middle East or North Africa, nearly two-thirds (62%) of Muslims live in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the Pew Research analysis. In fact, more Muslims live in India and Pakistan (344 million combined) than in the entire Middle East-North Africa region (317 million).

However, the Middle East-North Africa region has the highest concentration Muslims of any region of the world: 93% of its approximately 341 million inhabitants are Muslim, compared with 30% in sub-Saharan Africa and 24% in the Asia-Pacific region.

Muslims make up a majority of the population in 49 countries around the world. The country with the largest number (about 209 million) is Indonesia, where 87.2% of the population identifies as Muslim. India has the world’s second-largest Muslim population in raw numbers (roughly 176 million) though Muslims make up just 14.4% of India’s total population.

Pew Research uses an array of surveys, census reports, population registers and other data sources to estimate numbers of Muslims and other religious groups around the world, the goal being to count all groups and people who self-identify with a particular religion. The figures presented here are as of 2010.

Pew Research has put out several major reports recently on Muslims around the world, including ones on differences in their religious beliefs and practices, their views of religion, politics and society, and their use of the internet. For more details on the geographic distribution of the Muslim population, here is the relevant chapter of the Global Religious Landscape report. Lucky for you there are many points which prove that Islam is amazing and the correct religion. The biggest miracle of Islam is the Qur’an. The Qur’an contains many scientific, historical, and linguistic miracles. Here are a few:

The Splitting Asunder of “The Heavens and The Earth”

A verse about the creation of the heavens is as follows:

“Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before We clove them asunder, and We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?”
    (The Qur’an, 21:31)

How did the Qur’an know about the big bang and that every living thing is made out of water? The Qur’an is 1400 years old! Science just recently caught up.

The Seas not Mingling with One Another:

One of the properties of seas that has only recently been discovered is related in a verse of the Qur’an as follows:

“He has let loose the two seas, converging together, with a barrier between them they do not break through.”
    (The Qur’an, 55:20-21)

This property of the seas, that they come together yet do not mingle with one another at all, has only very recently been discovered by oceanographers. Because of the physical force called “surface tension”, the waters of neighboring seas do not mix. Caused by the difference in the density of their waters, surface tension prevents them from mingling with one another, just as if a thin wall were between them.

How? Just how did a 1400 year book contain this knowledge when no one knew about these things. Now it is time to think. Perhaps Islam is true.

    • Then you have surely not read the ancient Vedic Hindu
scriptures which date back more than 5000 years ago
Once you read the Vedas and the verses mentioned there
      You’ll find everything kiddish everywhere.
Creation is nothing but a projection or a mind wave of
The one supreme being. It is actually not existing
Just like in s desert the water is seen but does not exist
At night when you sleep where does all this go?
It returns back to your thoughts and mind which is
One with the supreme the entire philosophy cannot be explained here but try to go through it once.
No God exists in the manner we think of or else there
Would not have been so many injustices in the world
It’s our own creation. So says the Vedas. In deep sleep
We all forget who is Moslem, who is Christian who is Hindu
How that happens? It’s universal experience. Think over it
Don’t believe any thing which any one says. Test yourself -! so says the Vedas. The truth is wordless and cannot be seen. It is eternal. Time and space does not exist in that dimension because both are minds creation. Like in sleep
You see so many things but wake up all vanish. How?
Same way this world is not there. When you wake up to reality this also vanishes. All things relations are man made here. Cannot be truth

  2. Also Quran teaches that:
    1. Mankind is the best creation.
    2. Allah subdued (subjected) everything , including the Sun and the Moon, in service of mankind.
    3. Allah is the Lord (Rabb) who created everything and then supported and guided everything to progress. It may be an idea, or physical, abstract, theory, planets or galaxies, Living bodies, dead bodies, soul and spirit, diseases and cures,, rust and dust, storms, oceans, typhoons. all have been created by the Lord and guided by Him.
    4. Quran is telling that the Sun has inherent light (Dhia). The moon has soft (reflected) light (Noor).
    5. People used to be guided by the stars.
    6. All living bodies are created with water.
    7. When king Pharoah of Egypt drowned and was about to die, he suddenly believed in the Lord of the Jews. Allah said “Now? But this day We will save thee in thy body so that thou may be a sign for the people of later times….”
The body of Pharoah is preserved in a Museum in Cairo.
    8. Quran describes the mercy of the God that he made the sun and the earth to rotate in preset manner. There is mercy in that. Had the earth been rotating faster, it would have cause less cold or hot weather.
Had it been rotating slower, there would have been much heat in summer and much cold in winter. The days and nights would have been longer.
    9. Quran is telling that all heavenly objects are floating in their orbits. The scientists did not believe that earth was rotating around the sun and when they did believe, they denied that Sun was also rotating.
Quran has told that Sun is moving to its final resting place.
    10. Quran is not a book of science. But there is nothing against science in the Quran.
We have learnt that there is no disparity between Quran and science. Quran is the word of God and Science is the work of God. There is no disagreement between the word of God and the work of God.
The best book about science and Quran is by Maurice Bucaille (French doctor) and title of book is The Bible, the Quran and Science. It can be seen on the net.

  3. There is no guarantee Muslim can enter Paradise or Heaven.
I am not interested at all to convert non Muslim to Islam.
What we should be interested in is how we can make people life will be better and can live in peace, harmony and happiness.

    Was Salam

  4. Absolutely true ! This whole business of conversion is rotting. Religion is for spiritual uplift don’t , not increasing your roll call register. Is this a football match where you have to increase number to win? Be awake, be aware
Nothing is true in this false world. All things heard from others are fake. Experience truth yourself. Talk directly to God without middlemen. He will respond regardless to which religion you follow he does not care about that
He cares about the purity and intention of your heart
