This year marks 100 years since the first Ahmadiyya Muslims made the journey from India to settle in the UK.Over the weekend members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community held a series of events inviting everybody to celebrate their history. On Sunday a family picnic took place in Figges Marsh, while MPs, councillors and the mayor of Merton gathered in the Baitul Futuh Mosque, in London Road, Merton.
It was splendid, gorgeous and blessed occasion with lot of biryani. All enjoyed. There should be many such occasions, source of constructive interaction. Labour Party Councillors of the area Agatha and Gregory also attended on my invitation
May we reflect a moment? One hundred years of Ahmadiyya Muslim Missionaries in UK. Are we really satisfied about the number of converts? Celebrations for the 100 years present, yes. But celebrations on the numbers? not sure …
Br Rafiq is right. A serious point to ponder. Can some one analyse the reasons as same state exists in whole of Europe.
Why we do not see significant number of converts according to my analysis most Ahmadis deem Tabligh as a specialist or reserved task for missionaries only specially in western countries. They forget that every Ahmadi must be a missionary in its own person with an extrovert character.
While some missionaries are not as proactive as they should be. Tabligh requires an aggressive and zealous approach to flourish.
An ideal missionary must have relation with Allah before he could really inspire others. This is the prime condition to succeed.
Dear Ahmad
I msut say you very effectively hit the nail by tabulating three points.
First: They forget that every Ahmadi must be a missionary in its own person with an extrovert character.
In West if Ahmadiyyat has to be offered as an alternative then aught to offer some thing different. This some thing different are the noble deeds and character of each Ahmadi. These days sayings are judged with deeds. Where an ordinary Ahmmadi stands needs appraisal.
Second:Tabligh requires an aggressive and zealous approach to flourish.
Where ever this method was used proved successful. However majority of Ahmadies residing in West avoid this approach and believe in slow and steady approach.
Third: An ideal missionary must have relation with Allah before he could really inspire others.
I would say the foremost and the golden principle. Without achieving this no one can call others to Allah.
Very well said and your contribution is much appreciated.
