A football tournament is taking place this Sunday to raise money for charity.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association South London (AMYA) is running a community football tournament to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis Croydon.

The tournament, called the AMYA Friendship Cup, is taking place on Sunday, April 14, at the Oasis Academy in Shirley.

Participants in the tournament so far include the police, fire brigade, businesses and representatives from religious communities.

Mubarak Shams, Regional Head of the AMYA Croydon said: “Given the diverse variety of communities co-existing in Croydon, we hope this event will unite each of us under one banner of mutual friendship and love.

”The event, a first for Croydon, will be a friends and family gathering where everyone is invited to come along and enjoy the day, but, most importantly, raise much needed money for an incredibly worthy cause.”

Anyone wanting to enter a team into the tournament should contact organiser Tariq Ahmad at tariq@oggul.com.
