Ruminews.id , Gunungkidul — The Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation (JAI) Gunungkidul also attended a group screening of the documentary film “ Jalan Pulih ” and a discussion on community mental health at the 69 Coffee Shop, Wonosari, Gunungkidul, Sunday (30/8/2026).
The event, titled ” Journey to Recovery, Journey Together, ” was organized by Yakkum Jogja in collaboration with Imaji, an organization focused on mental health issues in Gunungkidul. The event also collaborated with Wahyu, the owner of Kedai Kopi 69.
Around 25 participants from various backgrounds attended the event, including schoolchildren, university students, members of the general public, people with disabilities, and representatives of religious organizations.
After watching the documentary, participants discussed the importance of building a safe and supportive environment for the community. The discussion provided a platform for participants to exchange experiences and perspectives on mental health issues from diverse backgrounds.
The Gunungkidul Islamic Association (JAI) was represented at the event by preacher Mln. Abadi Susman, secretary of the Mujono branch of the Tabligh Movement, and two religious leaders, Katmi and Anna. JAI also invited Angga, a JAI Gunungkidul sympathizer who holds a master’s degree in psychology.
During the discussion, Mln. Abadi Susman presented his views based on Quranic values. He believed that spirituality, along with caring and support from those around him, can play a role in maintaining mental health.
JAI Gunungkidul’s participation in the event also provided an opportunity to expand its network with participants and institutions. The meeting allowed JAI to gain several new contacts from various backgrounds.
The meeting also opened up opportunities for collaboration with various parties in social and educational activities in Gunungkidul in the future.
