Malaysian troops fight Philippine-Muslim group

Eight policemen were killed, two in Kampung Tanduo near Lahad Datu and six in Kampung Simunul, Semporna, following skirmishes with bands of armed intruders claiming to be from the royal army of the Sulu Sultanate in the Philippines, on March 1 and 2. Eighteen of the armed intruders were also killed in the two incidents.

Philippine President Benigno Aquino has sent his top diplomat to Kuala Lumpur in a bid to avert further bloodshed as Malaysian authorities seek to end a standoff with a Muslim clan that invaded Sabah state last month.

Philippine Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario was scheduled to meet his Malaysian counterpart to “calm the situation”, Mr Aquino said.

  1. Well, if Israel can claim lands that they had occupied thousands of years ago I suppose the Sultan of Sulu can claim lands that he occupied one hundred years ago. … (just in case you cannot see my sarcasm: both should not work like this).

  2. When I look over the title, I can’t help but to post something here. “Malaysian troops fight Philippine-Muslim group”. The things that I want to correct here is, Philippines-Muslim. That part should be rename as Sulu Sultanate Intruders. I’m afraid that because of that words would bring misunderstandings among readers, especially non-muslim or nicely said muslim-to-be.

Yes, they’re muslim, i can’t deny it easily because we muslim cannot easily declare one is not muslim. But maybe muslim on the ‘Identification Card’ only. Why? because of their behaviour as well as their thoughts.

If they’re truly-real muslim, devoted his prayer (solat), service of sacrifice (ibadah/nusuk), life and death, are [all] for Allah, the Cherisher of the worlds, (quoted from surah Al-An`aam 6: verse 162), they won’t cause any things that would bring Allah’s wrath.
