Freetown, Sierra Leone – Dr. Christiana Thorpe of the National Electoral Commission (NEC)  announced at 6:30 pm local time that President Ernest Bai Koroma, presidential aspirant for the All People’s Congress Party (APC) has secured a second term as President of Sierra Leone with 58.7% (1.3+ million) of the votes from the just concluded election.

Main opposition, Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio presidential aspirant of the Sierra Leoone’s People’s Party (SLPP) received 37.4% (837,517) of the votes.
