AMMAN — Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Monday conveyed a message from His Majesty King Abdullah’s to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, concerning bilateral relations and the regional developments.

Meanwhile, Agence France-Presse reported that Arab Gulf states are mulling ways to help Jordan shore up its fuel supplies, quoting UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday.

“We, in the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf Cooperation Council [GCC] states, are studying means of ending or minimising this deficit” in affordable fuel, Sheikh Abdullah told a joint news conference with Judeh.

But this requires talks with Jordanian and GCC officials on “technical” issues “which could take some time”, the Emirati minister said, according to AFP.

“There are some ideas but it’s still too early to discuss them before a clear agreement is reached,” he said.

Judeh said that “UAE officials are very understanding towards the critical situation we are going through”.

Chairing the Jordanian delegation for the first session of the Jordanian-UAE ministerial committee held in Abu Dhabi, Judeh was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
