Here is a link to the world’s best universities:
Glancing through the list I found only 7 Universities among the world’s best 400 that are located in Islamic countries, 3 of them in Malaysia, one each in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, UAE and Oman.
I saw ‘King Saud University’ as Nr. 200 in the list!!!
and: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) as Nr. 279. and American University of Beirut as Nr. 300.
and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as Nr. 335, United Arab Emirates University as Nr. 338
and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as Nr. 358
and Sultan Qaboos University, Oman as Nr. 377.
In any case: MUSLIMS: WE HAVE SOME CATCHING UP TO DO!
and, other Muslim countries: Shame on you!
and, members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at: When are you starting your Universities?
Categories: Americas, Behaviour, Education, Educational Resources, Internet, Islam, Middle East, United States
I believe King Abdullah University of Science and Technology as well as Masdar Institute (in both of which I have been) are spending billions to change that trend.
Strongly urge Ahmadi brothers and sisters to apply now:

Inshallah.
Please, no Saudi university is among the ‘best’ universities in the world.
The Saudis have the money to game the metrics in these evaluations. For example, paying research active foreigners for a meaningless appointment at Prince Whatever U so that publications by the foreigner show up as research at PWU.
Also, ‘best’ likely has no meaning. Best at what? Producing broad-minded individuals? Best at producing specialists? How do you compare a place like Brown to Cal Tech. Both great institutions, but doing very different things.
Good day! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you if that would be ok. I’m
undoubtedly enjoying your blog and look forward to new posts.
Thanks Genevieve, actually I think The Muslim Times is not yet on Twitter, but you remind us that we should ‘go with them times’ and ‘tweet ahead’. Inshallah we shall make this move soon.
