A panel of interfaith clergy, including a Rabbi from Redwood City, will share their interpretations of salvation next week at a roundtable in Foster City.

The Peninsula Jewish Community Center will host the May 22 event, called “Does God Redeem Us,”  which will feature a panel representing Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faiths.

The panel will feature Imam Tahir Anwar, spiritual leader of the Islamic Center of San Jose, Rabbi Nathaniel Ezray of Congregation Beth Jacob, Redwood City, Reverend Kristi Denham of Congregational Church of Belmont, and United Church of Chris Reverend Ryutu Furumoto, spiritual leader of the San Mateo Buddhist Temple.

Rabbi Lavey Derby, Director of Jewish Life at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) in Foster City will host the event.

“Each spiritual leader will discuss how their particular faith comprehends salvation and redemption,” Derby said in a prepared statement.

“We’ll also address how salvation and redemption can be achieved, regardless of the selected spiritual path. It promises to be a fascinating, enlightening, and powerful discussion.”

The event is open the public and free to attend.
