  1. It is very unfortunate, as the Holy Quran is the best proof the Bible has for being the word of God, at least in part:

Allah is He besides Whom there is no God, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining. He has sent down to thee the Book containing the truth and fulfilling that which precedes it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel, before this, as a guidance to the people; and He has sent down the Discrimination. Surely, those who deny the Signs of Allah shall have a severe punishment. And Allah is Mighty, Possessor of the power to requite. (Al Quran 3:3-5)

It is not only bad religion on part of this right wing party but also bad politics as they are showing lack of religious tolerance. By their refusal to stand up they are forcing their own religious beliefs down the throat of others.

I suggest that the agnostics and the atheists should take oath on what they like, rather than the Bible, possibly Sir Charles Darwin’s, On the Origin of Species!
