Prime Minister Mark Rutte has wished Queen Beatrix and her family a good Queen’s Day. In a video message he said that the Netherlands is at its best on Queen’s Day. “The whole country coloured orange, celebrations everywhere.”

Mr Rutte expressed the hope that Queen’s Day would take place in a relaxed and carefree atmosphere. ,,At the same time, our thoughts are with Prince Friso and his family. All Dutch people sympathise with them, particularly today. As the queen and Princess Mabel have said: the moral support makes it that much easier to carry on.”
