Battle of the Sexes: Women Get Less Exercise Than Men

Women are less likely than men to do 30 minutes of exercise each day. A new study found that women get on average 18 minutes a day of moderate to vigorous exercise while men get 30 minutes a day, according to a story on Live Science.

Those who don’t get at least 30 minutes of exercise were at an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and a number of symptoms that go along with it including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar.

A study put out by the CDC followed 1,000 men and women who wore an accelerometer around their waist for four days to keep track of movement. While women did live seemingly healthier lives,  for example, they were less likely to smoke; they participated in less physical activity than men.
