The Ministry of Labor will issue work permits to foreigners on the basis of their performance in the professional skills tests to be conducted by authorities in due course, according to a senior government official.
The workers need not submit any academic or technical certificates showing their qualifications and experience prior to sitting the test, according to Saad Al-Shayeb, director of the Department for Professional Skills Testing at the state-owned Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
He said a consortium led by AwalNet, a leading Internet service provider in the Kingdom, has won the contract worth SR6 billion to undertake the skills testing of more than 6 million foreigners in the Kingdom.

This sounds like a ‘tricky’ way of granting residence permits. I have not read of similar actions in any other country (for which there must be reasons). For instance an employer could be totally satisfied with the worker but the ‘skill test’ may consider the same employee as unsuitable. Who should be believed? The employer who has years of experience with this worker or the ‘skill test agency’ believing a test carried out in minutes?
If they want to kick us out just kick us out. why they want to give us tensions & troubles.
The forigners has put them from camel to corolla so why don’t they do everything.
The figure looks very big, let us hope they have free portals to improve the skills too.
Will the Arabic language of the compulsory item in the skill test ?
