Khalifa of Islam condemns Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti for calling for Churches to be destroyed
Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad says such statements bear no relation to teachings of Islam
The worldwide Head and Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has today condemned comments recently attributed to Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, in which he declared that it was necessary to destroy all Churches in Saudi Arabia and surrounding Arab countries.
Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“I was shocked and very saddened to learn that Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti has called for all Churches in the region to be destroyed. What he has said is completely against the teachings of Islam and must be condemned absolutely.
The Holy Qur’an has clearly said that there should be no compulsion in matters of religion. This means that every person should be free to practise his or her religion and have the right to worship. Based on these unequivocal teachings, how could a so-called authority on Islam ever advocate that even one church, let alone all churches, be destroyed?
Regarding the protection of all places of worship, the Holy Qur’an states:
‘Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged and Allah indeed has power to help them. Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly only because they said, ‘Our Lord is Allah’ – And if Allah did not repel some men by means of others, there would surely have been pulled down cloisters and churches and synagogues and mosques, wherein the name of Allah is oft commemorated. And Allah will surely help one who helps Him. Allah is indeed Powerful, Mighty.’ (The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 22, Verses 40-41)
Is the Holy Qur’an not clear? What do these words mean?
The life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is filled with examples of how he always advocated freedom of religion and worship. To give just one example, when a delegation of Christians from the city of Najran came to visit Medina, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) happily gave them permission to worship in his own Mosque, in their own way and to worship not towards the Kaaba but to worship in an easterly direction as was their method.
We find that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) spent his entire life preaching peace, tolerance and justice. Thus there can be no other conclusion than to say that what the Grand Mufti has said is completely wrong and displays a complete lack of understanding of Islam on his part.
We, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, follow the true teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and thus we desire and indeed constantly strive for a world filled with peace and freedom of worship for all people.
In 2010, a very famous American newspaper sought my opinion on whether the proposed Ground Zero Mosque in New York ought to be built. In response, I said that if permission were granted, then the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat would want a Church, a Synagogue, a Temple and the places of worship of all other religions to be built alongside it, because that would show true unity in society, and my answer was based on the actual and real teachings of Islam.”

The call of destruction of churches (a worship place)is totally against the Islamic teachings. So it is the duty of Every True Muslim to condemn this stupid call.
Being the True Khalifa of Islam ( Ahmaddiya Jammat Khalifa ) very rightly condemned absolutely this Non-Islamic, Non-Human call.
So here come a clear picture who is presenting a true Islam with proof and who is miss-guided and far from the actual teaching of Islam and can not present any reference from Qur’an.
Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V, the leader of World wide Ahmadiyya communities is the one who truly undersatnds the teachings of Islam and spreads the true massage of Islam sincerely.
I hope Muslims will listen to his advise and do not follow this so called ” Mufti” , who has gone so far away from the true teachings of Islam.

Something which all Muslims need to do i.e. repairing broken hearts and removing barriers. We pray to ALLAH(swt) so that every muslim nurture tolerance and affection of this level for others in the words they speak, thoughts they possess and acts that they do. Excellent example for generations to come indeed! Allah-o-Akbar!
There is a clear difference between a truly guided Khalifa and a misguided Mufti. If we really need peace in the world today, the whole world should listen to and accept this peace-loving and truly guided leader of Islam.
May Allah strengthen him with His holy spirit. Amin.

Khulfa-e-Ahmadiyya has always been the beacon of light and custodians of Islamic Grace. Would that the Muslims of the World hearken to them, they would not had been beaten and would have been respectable and the Most Powerful Nation in the World.
As long as Muslims do not accept the Promised Messiah a s their Muftis will continue issuing verdicts like the grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and would be laughing stuff for the World.
I have copied below a packet between Holy Prophet Mohaamd p b u h and the Christians of Najran, it proves that the Grand Mufti is ignorant and his Verdict is baseless and a threat to the Peace of the World.
This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.
No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them.
If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.
Their Churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (of Muslims) is to disobey this covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)”
Would that the Muslims turn to the real teaching of Quran and the Holy Prophet of Islam and would have been the leader of the world peace. May Allah guide them all. Aameen.
