The war is pronounced dead

BAGHDAD – The Pentagon officially pronounced its US$3 trillion-and-counting, “war on terror”-related invasion, occupation and decimation of the Iraqi nation dead on Thursday even as the country prepared for a low-intensity Sunni-Shi’ite civil war and the Muslim world wondered whatever happened to the George W Bush administration’s Greater Middle East.

  1. US Dollars 3 trillion and counting … Where did the money go? Of course it did NOT go to Iraq and Afghanistan (except as scrap metal). It was paid to US military contractors, military industry etc. In other words it ended up all in the USA, but of course this was not productive spending. Nothing was ‘created’ out of all this. A few individuals got very, very rich. Some more shareholders got very rich. And some otherwise unemployed got a monthly salaries, as long as it lasted…
