The Security Contractor Formerly Known As Blackwater Changes Its Name Again

The private firm hired by the U.S. that became synonymous with civilian killings in the Iraq war has once again decided to rename itself (via the Washington Post).

First known as Blackwater, the security contractor changed its name to Xe about three years ago to distance itself from all the negative publicity it received.

Now it’s chosen a new name that’s a bit easier to pronounce and identify: Academi.

The bottom line is this: Bad news resonates more than good news, and Blackwater brought us some deeply disturbing news from the Iraq war.

  1. sweet?

In the US military bases all over the world we see trucks carrying water. ‘White Water’ means fresh water. ‘Black Water’ means, well ‘what comes out of the toilets etc…’.

The Security Contractor ‘Blackwater’ was therefore correctly named (at first).

The Crown Prince of Qatar, responsible for security, should beware. He invited ‘Blackwater’ (or whatever they will call themselves now and in future) to Qatar. May we remind His Highness of the Muslim History when the slaves in Egypt took over the Government?
