JEDDAH: The Passport Department has urged all foreign pilgrims who have come for Haj to leave the Kingdom before the expiry of their visas.

“Saudi regulations do not allow pilgrims overstaying their Haj visas,” it said.

Brig. Ayed Al-Harbi, commander of the Passport Department forces for Haj, said his department has intensified patrolling Makkah districts to prevent overstaying of pilgrims in the city.

“We’ll impose punishments, according to the law, on those who employ or shelter pilgrims who overstay their visas,” the officer said.

Note by the editor: Laws are here for the regulation and benefit of all. Yes, we should always be honest, when we obtained a Hajj visa it means that we intended to go for Hajj. It is only correct to go back home at the conclusion of the pilgrimage.
