AMMAN (Petra) – The first group of the medical, technical and administrative staff of the Jordan military field hospital to Libya left the Kingdom on Saturday.
The medical equipment and the rest of the staff will be arriving at the hospital over the next two days.
The hospital, dispatched upon His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives, comprises 160 medical, technical and administrative staff, including 30 physicians with various medical specialisations. The hospital, to be established in Benghazi, has a 40-bed capacity, two operation theatres and is equipped with all the required medical supplies.
In September, the King instructed the concerned authorities to dispatch a field hospital to Libya to provide medical assistance to the Libyan people, who are suffering from a shortage in medical services.
