AMMAN (JT) – Somalia’s honorary consul to Jordan, Aref Rteimeh, on Sunday said 10 Jordanian doctors from the private sector will head to Somalia next month as part of the Kingdom’s humanitarian campaign to help the Somalis. He added that the physicians volunteered to provide famine victims with medical care, voicing appreciation for His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts to help Somalia, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Earlier this month, a Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft carrying a 10-tonne shipment of humanitarian assistance and medical equipment left for Somalia upon the King’s directives. His Majesty instructed the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation to dispatch relief aid to the Somali people suffering from the worst drought and starvation in six decades.
